Michael Jackson is scheduled to make his first appearance in Britain in nearly a decade during the World Music Awards next month.

Jackson is to receive the Diamond Award for his contribution to music, the BBC said Sunday. The Diamond Award, whose recipients include singer Mariah Carey, recognizes artists who sold more than 100 million albums, the BBC said.

Actress Lindsay Lohan will host the event in London Nov. 15, the BBC said. The World Music Awards are based on worldwide sales.

Jackson has lived in the Middle East since his 2005 acquittal of child abuse charges, the BBC said.
