VH1 set to debut six new musical series | Print |
Tuesday, 31 October 2006

The U.S. cable TV network, VH1, revealed Monday its plans to launch six new musical series under a new "VH1's Wild Life" promotional umbrella.

MTV Networks Music Group President Brian Graden announced the new series in a VH1 news release Monday, along with the network's plan to follow up on its popular "Celebreality" campaign with a similar promotion.

"The breadth of this slate of music-based series illustrates, once again, that VH-1 is the only place for adults to go to see the kinds of music and storytelling that speaks only to them," Graden said.

Among the new musical series will be "Rags to Riches," a show which will feature a celebrity revealing his or her rise to fame, and a limited series entitled "Bridging the Gap" that follows two established artists converging to share their inspirations, the release said.

Meanwhile, "ego trip's White Rapper Show" will search for the next great Caucasian rap star and former boy band stars will be sequestered in a home together in the reality series "Man Band."

The release said the six series will be rounded off by an untitled project focused around the rock group Whitestarr and the "Irv Gotti Project" that will follow record producer Irv Gotti's attempt to recuperate from money laundering charges.
